The Moderna Covid-19 vaccine (mRNA-1273) is recommended for people 18 years and older. The Moderna vaccine is administered in two shots, 28 days apart, in the muscle of the upper arm. The vaccine does not contain eggs, preservatives, latex, or metals. Possible side effects include pain, redness, and swelling. Throughout the rest of your body, you may experience tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, fever, or nausea. These side effects may happen within a day or two of getting the vaccine. They are normal signs that your body is building protection and should go away within a few days.
